# How answer-first guides took a brand-new site from 9 to 248 monthly Google clicks in four months

A blog that brings clients answers customers’ questions instead of talking about the business. Lemus Weddings did that on a new domain and got 88,783 Google impressions in six months. Here is the data, the method and how to check whether it is working for you.

## What does a blog that brings clients look like in real data?

Lemus Weddings, a bilingual destination wedding photographer in Guadalajara, launched a new domain in April 2026 with a library of guides answering couples’ practical questions. Google Search Console shows monthly clicks rising from 9 in May to 248 in September, impressions from 355 to 23,832, and the average position improving from 15.2 to 8.2 by October.

| Month (2026) | Clicks | Impressions | Avg. position |
|---|---|---|---|
| May | 9 | 355 | 15.2 |
| June | 50 | 4,925 | 13.3 |
| July | 134 | 14,718 | 11.9 |
| August | 178 | 21,917 | 10.7 |
| September | 248 | 23,832 | 8.9 |
| October 1–21 | 206 | 23,010 | 8.2 |

## Which pages brought the traffic?

Guides, not the portfolio. Of the 153 pages that appeared in Google, 138 were guides, and they earned 776 of the clicks counted by page. The top page, a guide to civil-registry paperwork for weddings in Guadalajara, alone earned 36,419 impressions. Cost guides came second, then music, venue and destination guides. The home page earned 46 clicks.

| Page | Clicks | Impressions | Avg. position |
|---|---|---|---|
| Civil-registry paperwork for a Guadalajara wedding | 184 | 36,419 | 7.9 |
| How much a wedding costs in Guadalajara | 97 | 4,222 | 8.1 |
| First-dance songs | 50 | 1,984 | 10.4 |
| Home page | 46 | 2,755 | 18.7 |
| Church wedding requirements in Guadalajara | 39 | 2,135 | 7.4 |
| Weddings in Tequila, Jalisco | 38 | 1,990 | 10.1 |
| Hacienda wedding venues in Guadalajara | 36 | 2,785 | 12.8 |

## Why did practical guides beat portfolio pages?

Because people search for the problems around a purchase long before they search for the vendor. On this site, guides earned 776 clicks while the home page earned 46. A guide that answers a question completely, with a table of documents and costs, meets couples months before they hire anyone and builds trust before the sale.

The vendor name is something a buyer only types once they already know you. A practical question is something every buyer types, so each guide gives the business a new way to be found. That is also why the same pages can be quoted in AI answers: you can [check your AI visibility](https://www.dizaynseo.com/ai-visibility-checker) to see whether assistants mention you for your own buyer questions.

## What is the method, step by step?

List the questions customers ask before they buy, write one guide per question that answers it in the first two sentences, add tables for costs and requirements with dated sources, link every guide to the service it relates to, keep one author name across all of them, and update the numbers each year. Quality and specificity beat volume.

1. **Collect the questions** from calls, WhatsApp chats, reviews and Google’s “People also ask”.

2. **One guide per question**, with the answer in the first 40 to 75 words.

3. **Tables** for costs, documents, timelines and comparisons.

4. **Sources and dates** for every number, and an “updated” date on the page.

5. **A link to the service** from every guide, where it naturally fits.

6. **Two languages** if your customers use both, written separately, connected with hreflang.

## How long does it take for a blog to bring clients?

On this site, clicks went from 9 in May to 134 in July and 248 in September, about four months after the first guides went live. That is one site in one market, not a promise. Search Console counts visits, not clients, so pair it with your own count of quote requests.

The early months look quiet because Google first has to find, index and test new pages. Average position improved each month in the table above, which is the signal to keep publishing. For a week-by-week plan, read our guide to the [first 90 days of SEO](https://www.dizaynseo.com/blog/first-90-days-of-seo).

## How do you know a blog is bringing clients?

Track three things monthly: Search Console clicks and impressions for each guide, the number of quote requests or calls that came from the website, and which guide the visitor read before asking. Rankings alone do not pay the bills. If guides get clicks but no requests, the missing piece is usually the link to the service.

- **Search Console:** impressions, clicks and average position per page, compared month to month.

- **Requests:** forms, calls and message taps, written down with the page they started on.

- **AI answers:** ask ChatGPT and Google your customers’ questions and note whether you are named.

## How does this apply to a rental or service business?

The same way. A restroom trailer company can answer “how many restrooms for 200 guests”, an office trailer company “what permits do I need for a job-site office”, a party rental company “what size tent for 150 guests”. Each question is one a buyer really asks, and each answer sits one step away from a quote request.

| Business | Question with search demand | Guide that answers it |
|---|---|---|
| Restroom trailer rental | How many restrooms for 200 guests? | Guest-to-unit table by event length |
| Office trailer rental | What size office trailer for a crew of 12? | Model comparison table with floor plans |
| Party and tent rental | What size tent for 150 guests? | Square-feet table by layout |
| Equipment rental | Rent or buy a mini excavator? | Break-even table by days of use |

Every guide should point to the page that sells. For us that is our [SEO services](https://www.dizaynseo.com/services/seo) page; for you it is the service or product page the reader would buy from. Also see how [GEO compares with SEO](https://www.dizaynseo.com/blog/geo-vs-seo), since the same guides serve both.

## Blog that brings clients: common questions

A blog brings clients when each post answers a question buyers search before they hire, opens with the answer, links to the service page and is measured by requests, not page views. These answers cover how many posts to write, what to write about, and when to get help.

### How many posts does a small business need?

There is no magic number. This case study had 138 guides among its 153 pages in Google, but one paperwork guide alone earned 36,419 impressions. Start with five to ten guides on the questions you hear most, then add more.

### Should the blog talk about our business?

Rarely. Portfolio and about pages convert people who already know you. Guides reach people who do not, so put your work in a case study or a link at the end of the guide.

### Can we hire someone to run it?

Yes. Our Complete plan, $450 a month, includes SEO and AI search work and four articles a month, month to month with no minimum. See the [plans and prices](https://www.dizaynseo.com/pricing).
